File Formats
File Formats and extensions is a lengthy subject but a quick summary is .

BMP file (BITMAP) are large and too cumbersome for attachments to Emails.
.JPG (JPEG files) uses a compression system and the option is usually available under scanning programs and photo editing and the best options for attachments. See Lesson Notes img104.doc to learn how to compress photos using IRFANVIEW
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is very good quality of compression but larger files than JPEG. It is used mainly by page designers and printers. It can cause some problems based on the various versions of TIFF format.
The .GIF is good compression for Web pages and animation.

NEVER OVERWRITE YOUR ORIGINAL PHOTO AS ANY COMPRESSION MADE CANNOT BE REVERSED.
